CCF Tea

Seven days. See what happens.

Let me tell you about three seeds that have been sitting in your spice cabinet this whole time — quietly waiting to fix your digestion.

Coriander. Cumin. Fennel.

That's it. That's the experiment.

In Ayurveda CCF tea is one of the most beloved daily tonics. And what makes it genuinely special is that it's tridoshic. That means it balances all three doshas and works for almost every body and every constitution. Whether you run hot or cold, fast or slow, anxious or sluggish, this tea meets you where you are. It stokes your digestive fire, reduces bloating and gas, calms inflammation, and supports your body's natural ability to absorb the nutrients from everything you eat.

And here's the thing that gets me every time: this isn't some exotic ingredient you have to hunt down. It's three seeds. One teaspoon each. Simmered in water for five minutes. That's it.

One of my teachers used to say that Ayurveda's most powerful medicine is hiding in plain sight… in your kitchen, in your garden, in the rhythms of your day. CCF tea is maybe the best example of that I know.

Drink it fifteen minutes before a meal to get your digestive fire going before food arrives. Or drink it after a meal to support everything that happens next. Add a touch of maple syrup or almond milk if you like. Plain is perfect too.

A note on cumin: it's the most heating of the three. If you tend to run hot or notice any aggravation, decrease it or leave it out entirely. Coriander and fennel alone are still beautifully effective and wonderfully cooling.

And if you want a ready-made version that's perfectly balanced and utterly delicious, Banyan Botanicals makes a CCF tea blend I love. Link below. (affiliate)

Three seeds. Seven days. See what happens. 🫶🏼

If you want a ready-made version that's perfectly balanced and utterly delicious, Banyan Botanicals makes a CCF tea blend I love 🌿

The Method

What it is: A simple three-seed digestive tea from the Ayurvedic tradition. Tridoshic and balancing for every constitution

The recipe:

✦ 1 tsp cumin seeds (decrease or omit if too heating)
✦ 1 tsp coriander seeds
✦ 1 tsp fennel seeds
✦ 2 cups pure water

Place all seeds in a small saucepan. Simmer over medium-low heat for 5 minutes. Strain into a mug. Drink warm.

Optional: a touch of maple syrup or almond milk 🌿

When to drink: 15 minutes before a meal to boost digestive fire before food arrives. OR right after a meal for digestive support and to reduce bloating and heaviness. Either works beautifully. Let your body guide you.

What to notice: Your digestion before and after meals. Bloating, gas, and heaviness, does anything shift? Your appetite throughout the day, does it feel cleaner and more consistent? Your energy after eating. Notice whether the tea before a meal changes how your body receives food.

Who this is especially for: Anyone who experiences regular bloating, gas, or digestive discomfort. Anyone who feels heavy after meals. Anyone who has a sluggish or irregular digestion. And honestly…almost everyone. That's the beauty of tridoshic medicine. 🌿

Watch for: Cumin is the most heating of the three spices. If you tend to run hot, have a strong Pitta constitution, or notice any aggravation, decrease the cumin or omit it entirely. Coriander and fennel alone are still wonderfully effective.

✨The Body Listening Session✨

You've been running experiments. Let's decode what your body has been telling you.

You arrive with your observations — what's shifted, what's confused you, what keeps showing up. I listen and help you decode the patterns across five lenses: your dosha signals, your digestive intelligence, your nervous system rhythms, your energy patterns, and what your body is ready to try next.

This isn't a medical intake or an overwhelming Ayurvedic assessment. It's a translation session. You leave knowing something true about your body that you didn't know when you arrived.

What you walk away with: A written Field Notes Summary — a simple, beautifully formatted one-page document capturing your key patterns, what your body is signaling, and your next three experiments.
