Ditch The Ice!
There is something most of us drink every single day that Ayurveda has been warning us about for thousands of years.
It's not coffee. It's not alcohol. It's not soda.
It's ice water.
I know…stay with me. Because this one might explain something you've been trying to figure out for a long time.
In Ayurveda your digestive fire (aka agni) is a flame. Every sip of ice water or cold drink during a meal pours ice directly onto that flame before digestion even begins. Your body then has to spend precious energy just getting back to baseline. Energy that should be going toward actually breaking down your food. The food sits. The system struggles. And a few hours later you feel it in ways you've probably stopped questioning.
That bloating after meals? That heavy foggy feeling two hours later? It might not be what you're eating. It might be what's in your glass.
The experiment is simple: swap ice water and cold drinks for room temperature water for seven days. With meals, between meals, throughout your day. No other changes. Just temperature.
Notice your digestion. Notice the bloating. Notice the heaviness after meals. Notice whether something quietly shifts when the only thing you changed was the temperature of your drink.
